'Tis the Season of: Aries

Oh my goodness, it's no longer arctic anymore. *happy dance* Spring is springing! People are feeling the urge to settle down into gross little relationships and be all guys and stuff. Everyone has more energy. Life is going to be good.

Perhaps that is why Aries dudes are some of the most exuberant guys in the zodiac. Now that we've hit the reset button, the zodiacal wheel starts up again with Aries as numero uno. Being number one is kind of their thing. Though they love a challenge.

Aries guys are macho and agressive, outer "masculine" or "feminine" traits be damned. They are an unstoppable force. They are bombastic, loud, clumsy, crass, and extremely affectionate. They may not make the best decisions but they will own them damn it. You WANT an Aries in your corner. They make amazing friends, even if you have to reel them in from time to time.

Aries men are:
- Strong-willed
- Friendly
- Confident in one department if not others
- Aggressive or aggressively shy
- Outgoing
- Tough

Oh but watch out, because Aries come with dynamite and can be:
- Hot-headed
- Reckless
- Ignorant
- Angry
- Overly competitive

So what can an Aries help you with?
- Overcoming obstacles
- Training your mind and your body
- Warding off negative influences and people
- Having your back
- Honing in on on your strengths, inner or outer

If you like a guy who is scrappy, sweet, and feisty, go tussle with an Aries.

Spring cleaning

Hey yo. I've gone back and edited some of the old Zodiac profiles. I've swapped out some pictures for new ones (I like to shake things up a bit). I'll definitely be going deeper (heh) into those posts to do some heavy edits and re-touches as I'm sure my grammar has gotten a lot better since 2011.

In the meantime, enjoy these random hot menz.

Why you shouldn't take astrology (too) seriously

I know this probably sound like I'm undermining the entire point of my own two-bit blog, but I think this is something that needs to be said:

Your time of birth maybe has a 5% influence on your personality. Or probably none at all.

Here's the thing about astrology. I don't think of it as pseudo-science per se. because the study of astrology does not claim to follow a scientific method or prove an empirical truth. It is an esoteric, ancient form of divination and classification based in symbolism and mythology. It is more or less an ancient ice-breaker. It has as much bearing as asking you what your favorite color is.

But hey, what your favorite color is can often say a lot about you, especially if you look at the psychological connections to color theory. In that sense, astrology does have a slight bearing on your personality. If you choose to identify with a zodiac sign, you may embody a lot of those qualities. You see what you want to see.

Though, here's another thing worth mentioning--maybe the old Greeks and Bablyonians of yore were merely missing the fact that the time of year in which you are born may have an impact on your psychological development. Not claiming any correlation here, but there is a chance that people who were born in the winter and were therefor kept inside during their growth, might develop with more introspective personalities. Whereas infants who were taken outside during the summertime might take on extroverted qualities.

But that's just me shouting into the cold void that is the internet.

And the sign of the person you're crushing on shouldn't matter either! Unless they're a Scorpio...then you should run far, far away (kidding). Again, there's that placebo effect. You will see what you want to see. If you have had bad experiences with guys who just happened to be Cancers, you might be hesitant to start a relationship with a guy who happens to be a Cancer. That's just the silly part of human nature. We see patterns. We make associations that are not always grounded in logic.

But that's okay too. Because as humans, we have the right to be silly. We have the right to examine and discuss a 2,000 year old esoteric study. But in the long run, your compatability comes down to the chemistry you have with you and your significant other.

Still, "what's your sign" will always remain a timeless opening flirtation. Maybe those randy old Greeks were onto something after all.

'Tis the Season of: Pisces

Better late than never, right?

We're almost out of this endless winter. I'm. Over. It. But with the end of winter also comes the zodiacal home stretch. And so we reach the final sign of the Zodiac. Pisces.

Pisces men are an imaginative sort, not necessarily bold and loud but drawing from inner wellspring of strength and emotional complexity. They are certainly not easy to read and have often been described as being "tuned in" to another frequency. You can't connect to a Pisces in a rational well. In order to mak an effort and understanding the sign of the fish, one must take the blue pill and see how far the Pisces guy goes.

Pisces men are:
- Imaginative
- Artistic
- Introspective
- Good at reading people
- Self-sacrificing
- Romantic

Yet for all their humanistic tendencies, Pisces can also be:
- Whiny
- Overly-sensitive
- Delusional
- Self-righteous
- Overly indulgent

So what can an Pisces man help you with?
- Channeling your inner reserves
- Talking out your feelings
- Sparking your imagination
- Getting in touch with your emotions
- Encouraging you to embrace the irrational

If you like a guy who is a bit of an artist, a lot of a dreamer, and channeled into a higher vibration, get wet with a Pisces dude.
